The three primary types of accident prevention involve engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal work practices. Engineering controls redesign equipment and workstations to eliminate hazards. Administrative controls establish safe operating procedures, job rotations, and regular training schedules. Work practice controls focus on individual employee behaviors, such as biomechanics coaching, proper lifting techniques, and early symptom intervention to eliminate strain before an injury occurs.
