In order to create a culture of wellness at their company, employers turn to wellness programs. However, many employers are perplexed as to why their employees don’t take advantage of these programs. It was found that the employees who didn’t participate lacked desire to spend time on wellness activities and underestimated program incentives. Solutions to this include offering employees the opportunity to get healthy on company time, spreading awareness about program incentives, and incorporating wearables such as fitness trackers throughout the workday.
